Our History

Our History

In 1974, Frank H. Camero took over ownership of First Memorial Park Cemetery. Frank’s dream was to fulfill the cemetery needs of the people in the surrounding areas. With himself and a small team he set out into the community, going door to door, meeting with the people and getting to know them. Due to his determination, the community of Von Ormy confided in Frank with their cemetery needs.

In 1999, Jerome H. Camero joined the team and together with his Father, expanded the cemetery. Together they pushed to meet their goals for the cemetery and in doing so add to the grounds of First Memorial Park Cemetery.

In 2005, Jerome H. Camero along with Dan and Joyce Camero, constructed Camero Funeral Home in dedication to the hard work and perseverance Frank showed in life. Always facilitating the needs of the growing families. Now through the leadership of the Camero Family, the staff at First Memorial Park Cemetery and the staff of Camero Funeral Home & Crematory, make it our mission to serve all families with the compassion and understanding that is needed in such a difficult time.

Jerome Camero along with his sons, Abram and Isaac Camero have always dreamed of opening a monument company. They take pride in serving the families of San Antonio and surrounding areas with custom, professional monuments to help permanently mark the place of rest of your loved ones. They strive to create custom crafted gravestones, monuments, and memorials to help reflect the life of your beloved.
